Katharine Cole began her long career in music with her first nationally published song at age thirteen. She became one of the pioneers of the San Francisco Americana rock scene in 1994, first as lead singer and writer for the band “Spanking Violets”, then gaining national airplay for her first solo CD “The Truth” released by Marquee/MCA Records in 1997. In 1999, she joined Dawn Richardson of 4 Non Blondes and Carrie Baum of Soul Divine, co-writing as vocalist and bassist, for the rocktronica trio “Kindness”, releasing two original CDs under that moniker. For the past seven years, she has emersed herself in the burgeoning country western scene as “Kitty Rose”, releasing two popular CDs, “Kitty Rose Greatest Hits!” (2005) and this year’s “Kitty Rose Live at The Ryman” made up entirely of Katharine’s original classic country tunes.
